Data we collect

Grafph is a real-names network — we don't support anonymous accounts, usernames, or handles. When you sign up, we collect your display name (shown to your connections) and your legal name (used to verify who you are; it is never shown to anyone else, including on your own profile). We collect your phone number to send you a one-time code each time you log in or verify your account — it's never shown to your connections, and it's encrypted in our database so that even we can't read it without the encryption key used at request time. We collect an email address to help you identify and recover your account. A profile photo is optional.

We also store your connections (who you're linked to, and how strong that connection is), what you share ("signals" — links, thoughts, and questions — along with any topics you tag them with), and how you engage with what's shared with you (opened, raised, lowered, muted, and so on). None of this engagement history is shown to anyone else as a literal log — it's used only to keep what reaches you relevant over time.

How your connections work

Grafph has no public feed. Sharing something never posts it publicly — it only ever reaches the people you're directly connected to, and among them, mostly the people most likely to actually care based on what it's tagged with.

Occasionally, a question you ask can also reach a connection of a connection — someone you aren't directly linked to yet, reached through someone you both know. When that happens, you're always told who bridged the connection. You never see that person's own private contacts, and they never see yours — a bridge only ever shows the path, not anyone's full network.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share what you post outside your own network.

Text messages

Grafph sends text messages for one purpose only: a one-time verification code when you sign up, log in, or re-verify your account. This is a transactional use, not marketing — we never send promotional texts, and message frequency varies with how often you log in. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Reply STOP to a Grafph text at any time to opt out of receiving further messages, or HELP for help. We do not share or sell your mobile information to third parties for any purpose.

Account deletion

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent: your name, phone number, email, legal name, and photo are removed from our systems and cannot be recovered. Your connections are removed at the same time. Content you shared while your account was active stays visible to the people who already received it — shown as sent by a "Deleted user" — so their own history and conversations aren't broken by your leaving. Your phone number and email become available again if you (or someone else) want to sign up with them in the future.
